The cold temperature on Saturday morning didn’t prevent hundreds of children and their families from participating in the New Fairfield Lions Club’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt.
The event took place on Saturday, March 28 at 9am on the field & basketball courts behind the Town’s playground off Gillotti Road. The children were separated into three groups, up to 2yrs, 3 to 5yrs and 6yrs & older. They lined up and at 9am Sharp ran onto the fields to fill their baskets with all of the candy & chocolates left by the Easter Bunny. A few lucky children won the raffle prizes and received a giant stuffed plush toy.
A big thank you to Lion Wendy Williams and NF Lions Club President Kim Holczinger for organizing the Easter Egg Hunt. Many Lions Club and Leo Club members volunteered as well to make this annual event a success. After the egg hunt, the children lined up to visit and take photos with the Easter Bunny (aka Catherine Tomaino, NF Leo Club Secretary) and the New Fairfield Lion (aka Stella Elbert, NF Leo Club Vice President). Please visit NFLions.org for more photos and upcoming events.
