NF Lions Club Kicks Off Their New Year

The New Fairfield Lions Club Kicks Off Their New Year with New Officers, the July 4th Parade & Carnival!

The New Fairfield Lions Club installed their New Officers for the Lionistic Year of 2024-2025 on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the Biscotti’s Restaurant in New Fairfield, CT. Lion Joe Holczinger was installed as the New Fairfield Lions Club’s President for 2024-2025. Lion Bill McDermott was awarded the Knight of the Blind, the highest honor bestowed upon a Lion in Connecticut for their humanitarian service.

LEO Ryan Rodriguez received the “LEO of the Year Award” presented to him by Patricia Neal-Petrillo, the New Fairfield Leo Club’s Advisor.

The New Fairfield Lions Club would like to thank all those who participated in the New Fairfield Lions Club’s July 4th Parade. It was a great day to honor America and to honor all those who serve, or have served, to protect our freedom. This year’s Grand Marshal was Kathy Hull, honoring her 34 Years as the Director of Senior Services in the town of New Fairfield. Again, “Thank You” to all those who participated and marched and to everyone who came out to line up the parade route to help us celebrate America’s Independence on July 4th in New Fairfield, Connecticut.

The New Fairfield Lions Club’s next BIG event is the NEW FAIRFIELD LIONS CLUB’s CARNIVAL, which runs from Tuesday, July 16th through Saturday, July 20th from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm at the New Fairfield Baseball Field at 12 Gillotti Road, across from St Edward the Confessor Church. This annual event has brought smiles to many children and families throughout our town and neighboring communities for years. Carnival Rides are provided by Stewart Entertainment. Single ride tickets and “Pay One Price” ride wristbands will be available for purchase. Cash and credit/debit cards will be accepted for all ride tickets and foods purchased in the Lions Food Tent. This year’s menu will include: Roast Beef Sandwiches, Sausage & Pepper Wedges, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken Nuggets, Chili Dogs, Chili Fries, French Fries, Fried Dough and much more served by all the volunteers and members of the New Fairfield Lions and Leo Club. The Lions Food Tent opens at 6:00 pm, a half hour before the rides, so you can relax and enjoy dinner with your family and friends.

Live Bands will perform every evening at the carnival. This year’s band schedule will feature “Split Decision” on Tuesday, “Out of Time” on Wednesday, “On The Road Again” on Thursday, “Not Sorry” on Friday, and “KP Experience” on Saturday. All of these great local bands volunteer their time and talent to support the New Fairfield Lions Club. Please thank them by visiting the carnival to experience their live performance.

All the members of the New Fairfield Lions Club “Thank You” for your continued support. All funds raised at the Carnival, and other Lions events throughout the year, go towards the charitable endeavors of the New Fairfield Lions Club.

The New Fairfield Lions Club is always looking for New Members, who are willing to work together “To Serve Those In Need” within our community. If you are interested in being part of a great organization that gives back to the community, please attend one of their events and ask a “Lion” to invite you to one of their Club’s dinner meetings. There will be a membership information table set up outside the main food tent at this year’s Carnival for your convenience. Please pick up a Lions membership brochure or just take a few minutes to introduce yourself. The New Fairfield Lions Club meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM at Biscotti’s Restaurant in New Fairfield, CT.
